Introduction to Bokeh and Painting with Light

Session Review

A visual example of the Bokeh technique
This afternoon lecture was an intriguing one since, besides becoming aware of the bokeh technique, which as shows in the example image, blurs background lights until they appear as illuminated polka dots.

Moreover, I learned about various photography equipment such as the neutral density filter, that from my understanding tricks your camera in believing it is working in low light conditions.

Furthermore, in order to capture light trails then a large aperture and working on manual mode is essential and set your camera lens at 50 mm as a minimum.

Task

Use two  techniques and that is

  1. Use artificial light to create trails (Paint with torches and light)
  2. Multiple exposures in a blacked-out space
Current Ideas
  1. Misty full moon shot (Moonlight Photography combine with blurred movement).
  2. Silhouettes
  3. Experiment with Bokeh
  4. Face the sun or a light source in order to create a low light shot.
