Session Review
Resuming the progress of my change project, I venture out with the Nikon D-90 and attempted to blindly capture images of reflections, doors and old gothic architecture in various parts of Birmingham city.
However, similar to when I was capturing the steps to St Annes Church I could not understand why my view on the camera was tilting and after my discussion with the lecturer Paul Hazel. Paul clarified it was because I was continuously capturing these images on a low aperture which was commonly set top F22 or F30.
Moreover, after further explaining and illustrating the theory and applications of behind the shutter speed and aperture, has advanced my skills with the camera significantly.
Furthermore, testing my practical use of the camera settings in-camera by attempting to focus on objects. Helped me fully understand how to adjust my camera for when lighting and environmental changes happen.
In addition, this now means when I return to the field I possess enough knowledge of the tool to manipulate it efficiently, whereas before I was shooting in the dark with one eye open. Also, after contemplating on my previous mood board for a change I have decided to focus on using fire as a medium for change since fire can represent rebirth and transformation (figure a).
